Job Description

Limberlost Forest offers free-day use of trail for Hiking, Skiing, Snowshoeing and Mountain Biking every day of the year throughout our 10,000 acre private property. We also rent out cottages, chalets, fish-camps and campsites which all the business to commit more time and resources into our free trails infrastructure every year. We have four positions available for summer employment that will be focused on participating in the daily operation of the Forest.
Successful applicants will be provided with rustic onsite shared accommodation on a private lake in the middle of the property that was formerly a remote fish-camp. Accommodation includes canoes and kayaks, paddle boards, cooking facilities, lighting, and gravity flush toilet. Offsite shower facilities with running water are available daily at the main base camp. Accommodation is available during the period of employment including days when employees are not working. We encourage every member of the team to take advantage of the paddling, hiking, biking, camping and fishing opportunities that we have to offer.
Team members will be required to have a strong tolerance for inclement weather, biting insects (mosquitos, black flies, deer flies), hot and cool weather. The majority of work will occur outdoors in daylight hours.
Responsibilities may include: trails maintenance, property maintenance, assistance with fish stocking procedures, forest inventory, and property infrastructure monitoring. Team members may also be required to assist in the coordination and execution of Limberlost’s major venue events including “The Limberlost Challenge Trails Race” and “Muskoka Yoga Fest”.

Job Conditions

  • Work on weekends may be required.
  • Working in outdoors in various weather conditions may be required.
  • Willing to work in remote locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum experience : 0-1
  • Minimum educational level : Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • Certifications:
    • Valid Driver’s License
  • Language : English
