This National Forest Week join our experts, James and Emily, to discover more information about the plants, wildlife and other fascinating aspects of the environment by using community science tools such as iNaturalist and Frogwatch!

Emily Davidson, Interpretive Specialist, Ducks Unlimited Canada

Emily Davidson works as Ducks Unlimited Canada’s Interpretive Specialist out of the Harry J Enns Wetland Discovery Centre located at Oak Hammock Marsh, North of Winnipeg. Emily has a degree in Environmental Science from the University of Alberta and has worked as a Nature Interpreter for several years, both with Parks Canada and Ducks Unlimited Canada. In her role, she connects students to the wonders of wetlands through virtual programs as well as support teenagers in developing their conservation projects through the annual Caring for our Watershed contest in Manitoba.

James Thordarson, Coordinator of Forest Education, Project Learning Tree Canada

James Thordarson is the Coordinator of Forest Education at Project Learning Tree Canada. James has a Master of Science in Forestry from Lakehead University as well as an official designation as Registered Professional Forester in the province of Ontario. James works closely with educators and those in the forest and environment sector to create virtual and in person resources to teach students more about the forest.
