Job Description

Role Summary:
The Intern, Land Stewardship Administration, will carry out administrative duties for the Parks Bank team, including maintaining and updating organized records and files, supporting information requests, and supporting the development and implementation of systems for efficient data management and documentation. The Intern will also assist with administering and tracking agreements, email communications; note-taking; preparing documents, meeting packages, and reports; organizing meetings and other events; and maintaining records. The Intern may additionally conduct desktop research on land conservation and contribute to the development of protocols and resources.
Responsibilities:
• Data entry and updating and maintaining accurate project records, including organizing the Parks Bank SharePoint folder and documenting changes
• Establishing an information tracking system for Parks Bank and overseeing data migration/updates
• Prepare and administer land-related agreements, including service agreements and land access agreements; track progress and deliverables to ensure timely execution
• Support the Parks Bank team with metrics reporting, such as data visualization, quarterly reporting, and grant reporting
• Support the Parks Bank team in preparing committee meeting packages
• Support the management of email communications and inquiries, ensuring prompt responses and routing as needed
• Desktop analysis of best practices and policies related to private land conservation, and assist with developing stewardship-related protocols and resources
• As needed, assist with fieldwork and other tasks in the Parks Bank team
• Maintain and contribute to a productive and collaborative team environment.

Skills and Experience
• Administrative Proficiency: Strong organizational and logistical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Capable of identifying issues and problem solving accordingly
• Data Management: Experience with tracking systems (e.g., monday.com), MS Excel, and maintaining clean and accessible records.
• Communication Skills: Confident in managing email communications, drafting professional correspondence and presentation materials, and responding to inquiries.
• Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat; strong research, data collection, and analytical skills
• Preferred: Experience with property management databases such as Landscape; familiarity with ArcGIS, Google Earth, or other spatial analysis and mapping tools; experience in environmental conservation, especially understanding the protected-area landscape in BC.

Job Conditions

  • Travelling may be required.
  • Working in outdoors in various weather conditions may be required.

  • Minimum experience : 0-1 years
  • Minimum educational level : Bachelor Degree
  • Certifications:
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Language : English
