Liberty Tree Nursery is located in southern New Brunswick, Canada and is focused on growing superior quality cold hardy tree and shrub seedlings. Since our founding, we have been especially focused on native hardwoods to supply habitat restoration projects, school planting events, and private landowners.
Liberty Tree Nursery was founded in 2019 by Jesse Saindon RPF.
After years of working in large nurseries across Canada and growing mainly conifer seedlings for reforestation, Jesse decided to start a nursery focused on different species, largely those that have value for conservation efforts or provide some type of significant non-timber value to humans, wildlife, or broader ecosystems. In the last few years, Liberty Tree Nursery has supplied thousands of bur oak and butternut seedlings for floodplain restoration projects within the Wolastoq (St. John River) watershed.
– 100% of our Acadian forest native seedlings are grown from locally collected seed to ensure quality, local adaptation, and for the preservation of a diverse genetic legacy.
– We are passionate about preserving diversity within the Acadian forest while promoting the planting of species that are expected to be resilient to climate change.
– We also grow edible nut species such as walnuts, chestnuts, hazelnuts as well as some fruit bearers (mulberries, raspberry, apple) to supply landowners and food forest projects.
