We specialize in growing plants indigenous to Manitoba and grow a large selection of heirloom vegetable, flower, and herb plants for homeowners, landscapers and market gardeners who are looking to create a sustainable landscape that supports nature in a big way. All indigenous plants are grown from local Manitoba-collected seed, and everything is grown using all natural fertilizers and pest management. We are working to eliminate the use of both peat and plastic in our operation.
Our plants are used in landscape designs to attract wildlife and help mitigate environmental challenges such as drought, soil compaction, erosion, water run-off, and more. We aspire to learn as much as we can from Nature and continue to search for ways to work with her in our greenhouse and gardens, and we love helping our customers do the same.
Prairie Flora Greenhouse was established in 2008 and now grows over 90 species of native Manitoba wildflowers, grasses, and shrubs. We are dedicated to bringing more of nature into home landscapes and communities. We were built on the legacy and wonderful work of Prairie Habitats Inc. an indigenous plant nursery which began in the 1980’s in Argyle Manitoba.
