Join PLT Canada and Registered Professional Forester, James Thordarson, to (timber) cruise Ontario’s forest sector! This interactive presentation will explore the diverse and exciting job opportunities available in forestry now and in the future, where those jobs are in Ontario, and how you can land them! We will also discuss how PLT Canada can help you on your journey into the forest and conservation sector.
We want to hear from you! If you have any questions about the sector or any specific topics you want to learn about, please include them in the registration form, and we will try to address them in our discussion.
The webinar will focus on Ontario’s forest and conservation sector, but all are welcome to participate.
James Thordarson, RPF, Manager, Forest Education and Career Pathways
James’s inspiration to work at SFI was being able to fill a role where he provides Forest education to anyone and everyone who wants to learn more about the natural world around them. James has a Masters of Science in Forestry from Lakehead University as well as being a Registered Professional Forester, ISA certified arborist, Managed Forest Plan Approver and is the Vice Chair for his regional Canadian Institute of Forestry Section. Working with youth is a highlight for James and he knows this work matters because forests are the future and so are the young people who will steward those forests for generations to come.
This Employment Ontario project is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.
