We have been successful in our programming thanks in large part to our incredible partnerships.
PLT Canada’s Green Jobs and Growing Skills programs are funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS).
Canada’s national, provincial and territorial park agencies work together, through the Canadian Parks Council, to ensure that Canadians can continue to be proud of the role parks and protected areas play in preserving our country’s natural capital. The CPC is an important employer of Green Jobs youth.
Outland Youth Employment Program (OYEP) OYEP provides Indigenous youth with jobs, education and training in the forestry and natural resources sectors. Since its founding in 2000, OYEP has empowered over 500 Indigenous youth and has led to increased high school graduation rates, meaningful long-term employment, and a greater sense of pride. In 2019, SFI, PLT Canada, and Outland, a Division of Dexterra, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in support of OYEP.
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) SFI works with the forest sector, brand owners, conservation groups, resource professionals, landowners, educators, local communities, Indigenous Peoples, governments, and universities to achieve a vision of a world that value and benefits from sustainably managed forests. PLT is an initiative of SFI. |
