Mosaic Forest Management Green Jobs Youth  Talk Tech, Biodiversity, and Forestry

Mosaic Forest Management employed six Green Jobs students this summer in British Columbia. These summer students worked in the great outdoors and used some of the cutting-edge technology that keeps Canada’s forest sector at the forefront of innovation. Congratulations to Mosaic and to these exceptional youth for a successful summer, developing practical new skills and for learning more about forests and sustainability!

Liam Cumberbirch (second from left), Forestry Summer Student, enjoyed riding in a helicopter to work on silviculture surveys in remote areas of Vancouver Island.

Adrienne Pierre (top middle), Environment and Resource Integration Summer Student, surveyed goshawk populations and supported marmot recovery efforts on Vancouver Island.

Mack Hallworth (top right), an Environmental, Resource and Integration Team Student, spent time surveying goshawk populations in Vancouver Island’s Alberni Valley.

Jeffrey Plett (bottom middle), GIS Summer Student, created and printed operational maps, and worked on maps showing the locations of carbon reserves.

Marino Somerville (bottom right), South Island Operations Engineering Student, used technology like Lidar and RoadEng to develop and implement plans for sustainably harvesting timber on Vancouver Island.
