Tim Hortons Foundation Camps is a non-profit, leadership development organization that supports kids from disadvantaged circumstances between the ages of 12 to 16. Through a multi-year, camp-based program, they learn skills like leadership, resilience, and responsibility, empowering them to change their stories for the better and ultimately break the cycle of poverty.
With six camps across Canada that run year-round Summer and School Programs, Tim Hortons Foundation Camps invest in youth from every constituency across Canada. Over the past 45 years, more than 295,000 kids have attended a Tims Camp at no cost to them or their families.
Who we support
Youth from low-income homes are at risk of repeating the cycle of poverty and face additional obstacles and pressures on academic performance, relationship building and physical and emotional well-being. With 1 in 5 (or 1.2 million) children in Canada living in poverty, a multi-year Tims Camps experience designed for lasting positive development can mean the difference between a young person struggling or a young person thriving.
We work with schools from priority neighbourhoods, and youth-serving agencies like Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and Children’s Aid, to identify kids that would benefit from a Tim Hortons Foundation Camps experience
What we do
Through our two signature camp programs, youth are provided with the opportunity to build critical skills and strengths in youth. By strengthening social ties and community connections, we can help young people cope with challenging circumstances. Whether at camp or back home in their communities between visits – our youth work to build social, emotional, leadership and innovation skills and behaviours like volunteerism and motivation to learn.
