Stanley Trail Association is the Trail Manager for the Stanley Trail section of the TransCanada Trail. We consist of a volunteer board of local citizens from the Rural Municipality of Stanley and City of Morden. We work in partnership with landowners, The RM of Stanley, and the City of Morden. We also work on trail initiatives with the City of Winkler. Our work centres around Trail maintenance and development, public education, and community relations.
Since 2000, we have led the effort to build, maintain and advocate for trails in the Rural Municipality of Stanley in southern Manitoba.
OUR MISSION
To promote and encourage the development and use of recreational trails in the RM of Stanley.
The southern part of the trail closely follows the Boundary Commission Trail. Big prairie skyscapes, shale cliffs, wild flowers, abundant wildlife, open grassland, rich agricultural lands, rolling hills, wandering creek crossings, oak stands, poplar bush and dramatic views of the Red River Valley all promise to delight trail users. The most technically challenging and scenic sections are where the trail follows the wooded creeks along the Pembina escarpment.
