The Chilliwack Park Society strives to shape a cohesive and inclusive outdoor recreation community while creating sought-after outdoor destinations and sustainable trail networks for local residents and visitors alike. Through collaboration with local government, land managers, community organizations and local First Nations, we seek to meet this vision together.
The Chilliwack Park Society is a registered non-profit volunteer-led society established to build, maintain and advocate for park space and trails in the Chilliwack area. The Chilliwack Park Society, together with the support of the City of Chilliwack, established and built the popular trail network now known as the Chilliwack Community Forest (130 acres of mature forest in the Eastern Hillsides of Chilliwack). With over 40 kilometres of maintained trails, the Community Forest is now the second most utilized trail network in Chilliwack for hiking, biking and many other outdoor activities.
The purpose and vision of the organization have grown in both scope and physical reach since its grass roots beginning in 2014. Community focused trail & park initiatives and partnerships now span across Chilliwack into the Chilliwack River Valley and throughout the Eastern Fraser Valley in BC. We actively maintain over 100km of multi-use trails to provide a safe, enjoyable experience for all trail users.
To date, our partnerships, along with the assistance of several local and government grants, have provided the Chilliwack Park Society with support to facilitate several ongoing children and youth programs including school field trips and youth mentorship and employment opportunities through the medium of trail building.
