Histoire de l'entreprise

The story of TDB Consultants Inc. starts in 1987, when Timothy Douglas Baines (the company’s namesake) created a company named ‘TDB Forestry’. The company was officially incorporated in 1989 as ‘TDB Forestry Ltd’. TDB Forestry Ltd. specialized in providing expertise in the completion of multiphase forestry projects. In 1994 TDB purchased and moved into its current office location on River Road. By the end of 1999, Tim Baines left the company to pursue other opportunities and 6 partners carried on TDB Forestry. In 2002, TDB officially became TDB Consultants Inc.

In the 2000’s, the 6 partners focused on delivering specialized and customized solutions to the resources sectors. Tragically, in 2001, TDB lost a partner in an avalanche while snowmobiling recreationally. TDB grew and evolved to include departments such as Engineering, Vegetation Management, Renewable Energy and even Traffic Control (although no longer a department), completing project for clients across Canada. In 2002, TDB created an information technology subsidiary called, Orion Information Systems Inc. TDB was nominated for the ‘Northern BC Business & Technology – Sustainability Award’ twice and in 2010 Orion won WorkSafe BC’s Health and Safety Innovation Award for the development of the TRAXms software TDB introduced into its operations.

In 2007, TDB partnered with George Lacerte (an elder of Nadleh Whut’en First Nation) and Stephen Bros Contracting Ltd. to create LHI Tutl’it Services (LHI). LHI specializes in vegetation management with George’s leadership, and the strength and capacity of resources provided by TDB and Stephen Bros. In 2013 LHI was rewarded for Outstanding Business Excellence in a Joint Venture at the BC Aboriginal Business Awards.
2010 saw the creation of TDB Atlantic, a branch office located in Moncton, New Brunswick. Two years later in 2012, TDB underwent a restructure in its management and ownership, with Dick Mynen and Rob Kragt becoming CEO/President and Vice- President respectively. In 2013 TDB sold TDB Atlantic to a former partner making Dick Mynen and Rob Kragt the sole partners of TDB.

Today, under careful and stable management, TDB has built its reputation for providing innovative solutions to the resource business community and maintains a large staff (mixed with new and long-term employees) that has the technical and professional expertise and experience to establish teams tailored to its clients needs.
