To conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for the benefit of North America’s waterfowl. These habitats also benefit other wildlife and people.

It’s been 85 years since DUC established our first wetland restoration project in Canada.

Since our humble beginnings, our work has come to be recognized for the significant value it provides to people and communities today, as nature-based solutions to floods, droughts, water pollution and the impacts of climate change. Our strength comes from working together and partnering with all who care about the landscape to help deliver our mission.

Since 1938, we’ve completed more than 11,826 projects and conserved, restored and positively influenced more than 201.8 million acres of habitat. Despite our progress, wetlands continue to be lost at an alarming rate. Conserving wetlands and other natural habitats across North America is a challenge. That’s why we bring together a number of approaches to get it done efficiently and effectively.
