Grovenland Farm is committed to growing sustainably produced food for our local community, including pasture based meats (poultry, pork and beef), free-range eggs, and chemical-free vegetables. We follow regenerative agriculture practices and work along with nature to produce healthy and sustainable foods.
We are proud to bring fresh, nutritious, chemical-free food from our family farm straight to the tables of those in our community and surrounding areas.
After 20 years of conventional farming, John and Denise had grown weary of the increasing dependence on chemical inputs and capital required to produce grains and meat for the mainstream global food production system. They stepped back and pursued off-farm employment, renting their grain land to neighbours and reducing their cattle herd. Their goal was to research and gradually implement more sustainable methods for growing plants and raising animals on their land.
Lisa and Ben were also ready for a change from city life. Moving to Saskatchewan proved to be the perfect solution! At the time, Lisa was pregnant with their second child and looking for healthy, nutritious food from local farms. The lack of locally produced food was frustrating. The couple had ample experience and resources up their sleeves to become the good food source for which they had been searching.
Partnering in a new farming venture with John and Denise was the perfect fit, thanks to their shared goals to supply the community with pastured meats and chemical-free produce. Grovenland Farm was re-imagined in 2011, as it welcomed the dreams, ideas and energy of the fourth generation of farmers from the family on to the land.
