Job Description

The candidate should have some knowledge of water, lake and aquatic ecosystems but will receive additional training for the various invasive species that pose a threat to the Wabamun Lake ecosystem and general stewardship practices. The candidate will be required to advise and educate the cottage owners and the general public using Lake Wabamun on the threat of invasive species entering the lake, and promoting the proper stewardship of the lake . Additional programs may include Shoreline Love your Lake Program, Clean Runoff Program Riparian and Littoral Health. The candidate will be responsible to speak to the public and distribute government materials regarding the steps required to reduce the potential of transferring invasive species, general stewardship practices and co- ordinate volunteers to assist if necessary. Good public speaking and organizational skills are required.

Job Conditions

  • Travelling may be required.
  • Work on weekends may be required.
  • Working in outdoors in various weather conditions may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum experience : 0-1
  • Minimum educational level : Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • Certifications:
    • Valid Driver’s License
  • Language : English
