The Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture is seeking a highly creative and energetic individual to join the Mactaquac Provincial Park team as Visitor Experience Attendant during the 2019 summer season. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic and creative team responsible for the implementation of new exciting events and initiatives that will serve to enhance the visitor's stay at Mactaquac Provincial Park.
As a member of the Mactaquac Provincial Park, the successful candidate will assume specific duties and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to:
•Implementing and delivering programs in the park;
•Conducting specific public relations activities, special events, and offer tourism information services;
•Interacting with visitors in the park and on the trails;
•Responding to public inquiries;
•Various other tasks as required or assigned.
•Secondary or postsecondary student returning to school in the fall;
•Experience or course work in tourism, recreation, resources management and/or public relations;
•Thorough knowledge and experience working with various computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter¿);
•Possession of a valid class 5 driver's license.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:
•Outdoor skills training such as Wilderness First Aid and water safety, or experience with canoeing, kayaking and hiking;
•Written competence in English and French.
The following operational requirements are also required:
•Working evenings and weekends;
•Working shifts (days and evenings);
•Working variable hours.
