The Conservation Services Assistant will actively participate in Land stewardship project implementation, promotion, mapping, and reporting on conservation programming within the Lower Thames Valley watershed. They will learn to identify tree and shrub species, native tall grass species and will learn and assist with field operations, develop their digital skills with ARC Gis mapping, and photo documentation of species. The candidate will also learn to develop client service skills through presentations and have the opportunity to engage the community through public speaking. The Conservation Assistant will work with LTVCA staff as a team member to collaborate with community partners and First Nations groups and/or volunteers in this work to enhance communication skills. In addition, they will be encouraged to push their leadership skills and assist with other LTVCA projects where opportunities arise (e.g. water quality sampling, species at risk activities) to further diversify their experience (e.g. brief job shadowing opportunities, special environmental projects).
