Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting provincial biologists in the collection and entry of biological data from fisheries around the province. The candidate should have a knowledge of fish, ecology, and resource management. They must also be comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, and be able to travel remotely for up to one week at a time. The candidate will also be responsible for maintenance of fisheries equipment over the summer, as well as entering archived data into computer systems.

Experience in the field of fisheries management would be an asset, with the candidate being able to tow and trailer boats as needed, as well as operate boats if necessary. Electrofishing certification would be a benefit.

Job Conditions

  • Travelling may be required.
  • Work on weekends may be required.
  • Working in outdoors in various weather conditions may be required.
  • Willing to work in remote locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum experience : 1-2
  • Minimum educational level : Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • Certifications:
    • Valid Driver’s License
  • Language : English
